Rescue officials recovered the car of retired colonel Ishaq qazi that was swept by an overflow of rainwater along with him and his daughter last week in Rawalpindi, an official said on Friday.
The car, a gray vehicle from the city of Honda, was recovered from the Kak bridge. The search teams found Qazi’s body last Friday, which was approximately 62-64 years old and resident of phase 5 of the Defense Housing Authority (DHA).
However, the body of the colonel’s daughter, Muneba, has not yet been found. “The body of the girl who drowned in the water of the flood will also find himself soon,” said the emergency officer of the district (DEO) Sibghatullah Dawn.com.
The retired colonel and his daughter went to the door of his car, despite heavy rains and flooded streets.
According to a statement from the Silalabad Sihala Police Station, “due to the strong accumulation of rainwater on a nearby road, its vehicle stopped. While Colonel Ishaq tried to restart the car, the water flow intensified, and both individuals were swept by the drainage of rainwater.”
With the beginning of the Monzón season in Pakistan, which usually lasts from the end of June to September, different parts of the country are witnesses of heavy rains and a greater risk of extreme climatic events such as sudden floods and landslides, especially in the northern and western regions.
