The police arrested a man on Monday after a footage that allegedly showed him to a younger girl in the Kasur district of Punjab became viral online.
According to Kasur District Police officer (DPO) Muhammad Isa Khan, the suspect was arrested in an injured condition.
“The suspect had abused a girl playing in a street in the Shah Inayat neighborhood three days ago,” the statement said.
Dpo Khan realized the images and addressed the station station officer, Asif, who arrested the suspect in 24 hours, he added.
Police said the suspect was caught in Dhanpat Road, where he took out a gun to escape from arrest. However, they shot him during an exchange of shooting and was arrested in an injured condition, according to the statement.
He added that the suspect had been taken to the Kasur district hospital to receive treatment.
“According to the vision of Punjab Prime Minister, the sexual abuse of innocent women and children will not be tolerated under any circumstance,” said the statement.

More than two years after the case of Zainab, the National Assembly approved the draft alert, response and recovery of Zainab, 2019 that seeks to accelerate research and punishment for child abuse perpetrators.
