Israel kills dozens in Gaza amid growing famine fueled by restricted aid flow

Israeli shots and air attacks killed more than 50 Palestinians in Gaza on Saturday, including some who expected during the night for help, according to local health officials, who continues a pattern that has generated international criticism as the “drip help feed” of the country continues to claim lives.

Dr. Khalil Al-Daqran, spokesman for the Ministry of Health of Gaza, said that at least 52 people were killed in Gaza in regards to this weekend, including those who expected help at the Crossing Zikim with Israel, “several hungry children” and a group recovered in southern Khan Young.

In the Zikim area, at least a dozen were killed while waiting for help trucks, according to Associated Press.

Israel’s defense forces did not immediately respond to a request for comments.

The last murders near a help distribution site occur in the midst of what many have described as the “drip help” of Israel in Gaza, a tactic that has contributed to more than 120 deaths from malnutrition and left a third of the population on the edge of the Inanion.

Criticism is disputed by the Israeli army, which says it has allowed in an average of 70 trucks per day since May. But help agencies say that hundreds of trucks are more up to date to feed Gaza’s hungry population.

Five deaths from malnutrition were recorded in Gaza in the last 24 hours, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the territory said on Saturday. At least 127 people, including 85 children, have died as a result of hunger in the enclave since October 7, 2023, according to the Ministry.

Earlier this week, 25 countries, including Britain, Japan and a large number of European nations, issued a joint statement that insisted that the war in Gaza “must end now.”

The foreign ministers of the Nations described the recent murders of Palestinians who sought “horrible” help, that the Gaza Ministry of Health and the estimation of the UN Human Rights Office are more than 800.

The last previous instance involved the murder of at least 67 people while waiting for UN help trucks in northern Gaza on Sunday.

Israel said that his army had triggered the crowd to eliminate “an immediate threat,” adding that victims’ reports inflate.

The Israeli army, which controls the entry of all aid to the besieged enclave, blames the UN and other help agencies for not distributing supplies.

The UN spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric, told journalists this week that there was “lack of disposition” of Israel to allow them to distribute help.

Israel has accused Hamas of stealing help financed by the United States, citing that as a main justification, together with the United States, to propose a new armed private aid operation. But an investigation carried out by the United States International Development Agency found that “there are no reports to allege Hamas” benefited from the supplies financed by the United States.

In a statement, the FDI said the USAID report ignores “clear and explicit evidence that Hamas exploits humanitarian aid to maintain their combat abilities” and criticizes the military “due to routing decisions taken specifically to protect humanitarian personnel and shipments.”

“The USAID report represents a surprising example of biased framing,” said the IDF. “Instead of holding Hamas and other terrorist groups for the looting and obstruction of the help of reaching the population, he assigns” indirect responsibility “to Israel for the actions of armed militants and terrorist organizations.”
