4 killed, 1 injured as flash floods sweep across KP – Pakistan

Four people died while a person was injured on Sunday when sudden floods swept the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Buner, Malakand and Mansehra, according to the Provincial Authority of Disaster Management (PDMA).

At least 22 people have been killed and another 11 have been injured in KP in accidents related to rain, strong winds, sudden floods and landslides since June 25, according to PDMA reports. The PDMA said that three bedrooms in a house in the Teenolo Dheri town of the Buner district collapsed, killing a woman and hurting a man. Separately, in Buner, a temporary bridge pillar in Faizabad Khwar was swept.

In Malakand, a sudden flood caused by heavy rains swept the Council of the HEERO SHAH union, killing three people.

According to Pdma’s report, a woman and two children were swept. The woman and one of the children drowned.

In Mansehra, the PDMA declared in his report that a 18 -year -old Rawalpindi resident had drowned in a sudden flood in Putwar Halqa Jabba that was caused by heavy rains.

Amir Khadam, rescue spokesman 1122 in Mansehra, said Dawn.com That the young man drowned when he crossed a Nullah in the Mansehra district with his motorcycle on Sunday morning.

“The deceased’s body was recovered from the water from the flood in the Ghotar area and was delivered to his heirs,” Khadam said.

The PDMA added that due to heavy rains, landslides were reported on the Buner Pandriks Union Council and the Tharala area of ​​the Torghar district. Both events caused traffic locks and heavy machinery deployed to clear the roads.
