“Mexico City is going through a transformation,” he said. “There are many foreigners, namely, the Americans, who come to live here. Many say it is xenophobia, but it is not. It’s just that many foreigners come here, rentals shoot due to Airbnb. Rentals are so high that some people can no longer pay.”
The protest of Mexico City follows others in European cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Paris and Rome against mass tourism.
