Human remains found at site of California fireworks warehouse explosion

Human remains have been found on the site of a mass explosion of fireworks warehouse that detonated in northern California earlier this week, and where seven people remained not counted, authorities said on Friday.

Yolo County in a statement did not say how many human remains were found at the site of the explosion near Esparto, northwest of Sacramento, who caught fire and exploded on Tuesday.

The relatives of the seven missing people have expressed their frustration for not knowing the destinations of their loved ones.

Firefighters have said that the area was still burning and that there were explosives at the site that required caution before recovery, and asked for patience.

“At this time, no positive identifications have been made,” said Yolo County in a statement.

Once identifications are made, family members will be notified before the names are publicly published, he said.

The cause of the fire and the explosion remains under investigation, authorities said.
