Detroit – state and federal authorities are investigating an online company that undertakes to help people find their eternal love, Michigan’s attorney general said Tuesday.
The search orders were executed in two houses in Leelaanau County in Northern Michigan, where the Twin Flame Universe is located, said Attorney General Dana Nessel.
Twin Flames, operated by Jeff and Shaleia Divine, has been subject to little flattering documentaries in Netflix and Amazon Prime. It offers to help people find a romantic couple of life, a “twin flame”, through a “spiritual journey.”
Nessel said there are accusations that twin flames exercise “coercive control” about their members in the United States through illegal acts.
She did not reveal what the investigators were looking for with search orders. Associated Press sent a message in search of comments through the Twin Flame website, but it was not immediately answered.
TWIN FLAMES has a variety of products, from a Kindle book of $ 9.99 to the “Everything package” of $ 8,888, with access to hundreds of videos of videos, guided meditation and other lessons.
In March, Twin Flames published a statement defending its mission.
“We take recent accusations seriously that we imply that we handle inappropriate control over the members of our community. After a careful review of the coverage of the media and the recent productions, we are sad that we have made so much effort to take blows to an organization and community founded in mutual love and respect,” said Twin Flames.
