• Aleem alleges that ‘Less Imran’ has come to pass in the province; Gohar’s budget ‘has no idea’
• The part decreases the “spontaneous abortion of justice” by the Superior Court of Lahore
Islamabad: As the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government approved the budget for the next financial year without the approval of the PTI chief pattern, Imran Khan, his sister Aleema Khan said Tuesday that a “Minus Imran” formula was in force.
Separately, the Punjab chapter of the party has expressed a strong disappointment for the decision of the Superior Court of Lahore (LHC) to deny the bond to Imran Khan in the cases of May 9.
Speaking to the media outside the Adiala prison, Aleema said that if KP’s prime minister Ali Amin Gandapur lacked the courage to stand firm, he should have resigned.
KP’s prime minister had said that the budget would be discussed with Imran Khan before approval.
Aleem Khan said that the authorities had made a routine to deny meetings with his brother, but promised that he would not give in and would continue to visit him in line with judicial orders, which allow family gatherings on Tuesdays.
Answering a question about the approval of the budget, he said that Imran Khan had made it clear that KP’s people had voted for him and wanted to assign funds personally to ensure that they were used properly.
“We are not aware of what is in this budget. They should have expected. Salman Akram Raja had informed us that, according to their information, the budget would be approved on June 27,” he said.
Aleem questioned why the KP government had not waited and discussed the budget with Imran Khan. She said the budget ticket could have been delayed for two weeks and claimed that the KP government must be hiding something.
When asked why Imran Khan had not issued a strong statement against Israel, he said that his brother’s message was for unity. “However, we don’t know what can happen tomorrow; Iran and the United States could reach an agreement. Those who are polishing boots want Khan to speak so that they can complain (saying that he is against Pakistan’s interest).”
Aleem added that Imran Khan was fully aware of Iran-Israel’s situation and had predicted that the conflict would not last long, since the conversations would inevitably resume due to the prevailing geopolitical situation.
Meanwhile, the president of the PTI, the lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, seemed without realizing that the KP Assembly had already passed the budget. Speaking to journalists, he said he believed that the budget would be approved after a week, but he was informed in the place that had already been approved.
However, he argued that if Imran Khan direct it, the KP government and all the legislators of the party would immediately resign.
Reaction to LHC’s decision
PTI expressed a strong disappointment for the LHC decision to deny the bail of Imran Khan in the cases of May 9.
In a statement, the party said that despite the months of procedures, there had been no credible evidence in these cases “politically motivated.”
“Today’s ruling is equivalent to a spontaneous abortion of justice,” reads the statement, claiming that the “politically controlled” courts continued to issue verdicts without being able to defend the principles of justice.
The party said it remained resistant despite enduring extreme repression in the last three years. “We will continue to fight in our legal battles in court while preparing simultaneously to launch a peaceful protest movement to demand justice,” he said.
