Qatar’s prime minister said Tuesday that the country had negotiated fire with Iran in the middle of the current war with Israel at the request of the United States to play a role as a link.
He also said that relations with Iran were marked by an Iranian missile volley in an air base in the United States in the Arab state of the Gulf, but added that he expected the ties to eventually “return to normal.”
Iran responded to the participation of the United States in Israel’s Air War against Iran when shooting missiles on Monday at Al Ubeid air base, but no one was injured after Tehran gave warning, and Washington announced a high heat hours later.
Qatar, located on the other side of the Gulf since Iran, has often acted as a mediator in regional conflicts, even between Iran and the United States and between Israel and Hamas in the continuous conflict of Gaza.

The prime minister described the attack as “unacceptable”, but said that Qatar’s response would be “diplomatic and legal.”

Al Thani added that Qatar had contacted Iran at the request of Washington to help facilitate fire.
“We hope that the high fire will continue as agreed, and we urge both the United States and I will return to the negotiating table with the aim of reaching a comprehensive diplomatic solution, something that Qatar has constantly sought,” he said.
He added that Iranian President Masoud Peeshkian expressed her repentance in a phone call with the ruler Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani de Qatar that Tehran’s goal in reprisals for US air attacks was a military base in Qatar.
Sheikh Mohammed also urged Washington and Tehran to resume the conversations mediated by Oman in Iran’s nuclear program that froze when Israel began hitting Iran.
He said that Qatar, a key mediator between Israel and Hamas, was working to resume conversations for a new fire in Gaza’s conflict.
“We still continue our efforts, and God wishes, we will try to look for an opportunity during the next two days for having indirect negotiations between the two parties,” he said.
“We hope that the Israeli side does not explode the high fire with Iran to unleash what it wants to unleash in Gaza and continue its bombing,” added Sheikh Mohammed.

Separately, a source with knowledge of the conversations said that Qatar’s prime minister persuaded Iran to accept the high fire proposed by the United States with Israel after the Iranian missiles went to the US base near Doha.
Sheikh Mohammed spoke with the Iranians at Washington’s request after Monday’s unprecedented attack against the Qatar soil, said the source AFP.
