Shooter killed at Michigan church, at least 1 injured


A shooter in a Michigan church injured a person on Sunday before being killed by a security guard, according to local authorities.

The Wayne police, Michigan, said in a publication on social networks that responded to an active shooter in the parking lot of the Church of the community of Crosspointe on Sunday.

The officers learned of his arrival that a security guard had fired and killed the alleged shooter, that Deputy Director Finley Carter III said he was a 31 -year -old man.

“Shooter will be in a parking lot. Someone hit him,” says an official on the dispatch radio, obtained through Broadcastify.

Another man also was shot in the leg, according to the police.

The authorities said the investigation is ongoing and urged the public to avoid the area. The church, located in Glenwood Road, is about 30 miles west of Detroit.

“Our leadership and support teams are on the ground, on the scene, in Wayne, Michigan providing research assistance and support,” said FBI deputy director, Dan Bongino, in a publication on X.

A live video from inside the church captured at the time the congregation reacted to the shooter’s reports, with individuals fleeing the room and covering behind the chairs.

“Everyone at the back, please, everyone comes to the back. Come to the back,” someone is heard in the video.
