The United States bombed multiple nuclear sites in Iran, President Trump announced at a social media post on Saturday. Air attacks are the first time that the United States carries out a direct military attack against Iran and increased even more a military conflict that began between Iran and Israel last week.
“We have completed our very successful attack against the three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan,” said President Trump in a publication on social networks. “All airplanes are now outside Iran’s airspace. A complete payload of pumps was removed on the main site, Fordow. All airplanes are sure on the way home.”
Trump added: “Congratulations to our great American warriors. There is no other army in the world that could have done this. Now is the moment of peace! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
According to Israeli officials, the forces have killed some of Iran’s main military commanders, along with at least nine scientists who work in nuclear enrichment, and has damaged several nuclear enrichment facilities.
Israel was able to carry out its initial attacks mainly with its own intelligence and forces, but strongly leaned into American intelligence, as well as the ammunition and defense systems of the United States that Washington had previously provided.
Two US officials told NBC News this week that the United States used interceptors and land boats to defend Israel against Iranian missiles.
Israel was able to reach some of Iran’s nuclear facilities alone, but it is not believed to attack a key site in Fordo. The installation of Fordo, the most advanced in Iran, is built inside a mountain and is believed to be safe from any pump, except for the GBU-57 artillery penetrator of the United States (MOP), a “Buster Bunker” weapon. Although the United States has provided Israel to other bunker busters, it is not known that Israel has any plane capable of delivering the MOP, which makes the participation of the United States necessary for any successful air attack in Fordo.
Trump’s change
NBC News has reported that President Donald Trump had opposed Israeli military action against Iran, favoring negotiations on bombings, but that in the days before the initial attacks, he convinced himself that Israel’s greatest anxiety for Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities was justified.
After a fundamental informative session of June 8 of the President of the Joint Chiefs, the General of the Air Force, Dan Caine, on the plans of Israel and the US options. To support his operation, he gave the tacit approval to Israel and decided to provide limited backing in the United States.
Although previously he could have pressed publicly for diplomatic solutions, and although many of his magic allies have been advocating for the military participation of the United States, Trump’s rhetoric about Iran has largely intensified since the Israel campaign began.
On Tuesday, in a publication on its social media platform, Truth Social, requested the “unconditional surrender” of Iran!
On Wednesday morning, he said he was still considering strikes.
“I can do it. I may not do it,” he told journalists outside the White House. “No one knows what I’m going to do.”
Asked what he meant with his “unconditional surrender!” Post said: “That means I’ve had it. Ok, I’ve had it. I give up. No more.”
“Then we are going to exploit all the nuclear things that are all over,” he added.
