At least three people are dead in the rural areas of North Dakota after tornadoes left damage to the eastern areas of the State, according to a statement from the CASS County Sheriff’s office on Saturday.
The agents were sent to Enderlin, a rural area to about 40 miles west of the Minnesota border, around 11:40 pm Friday night due to damage to a residence after a tornado, authorities said.
The Enderlin Fire Department said that the storm hunters of the deputies had found two people who died as a result of the tornado, the authorities said. Then, the local fire department was sent to another place shortly after, where it located the third fatality of tornadoes.
“The agents found extensive damage in the area and began to carry out well -being controls in people with several associated agencies,” said the statement. “The Police, the Enderlin Fire Department and other lifeguards continue to seek in the area and review the residents now.”
The National Meteorological Service issued several tornado warnings that have now ended for areas in eastern North Dakota on Friday, with potentially hail of the size of golf balls in areas that identified themselves as they had no hospitals. The NBC affiliate, Kvly in Fargo, reported that at least three tornadoes knocked down on Friday night at Stutsman, Barnesom and Ransom counties.
Tornado warnings extended east to Minnesota parts until the early hours of Saturday morning.
