Cuomo has approached the field since before he even entered, the main clear thanks to his almost unanimous name recognition, his relations of decades with key communities and leaders throughout the city and the skill of collection of funds that entails being a national democratic figure once seen as a possible presidential hope before renouncing.

“This victory will be historical not only for what I am, a Muslim immigrant and a proud democratic socialist, but for what we will do: make this city affordable for all,” he said in a demonstration this month.
Public surveys continue to show Mamdani as the main challenger of Cuomo, and has tried to take advantage of transverse agreements with other candidates to urge followers to include them all in their election ballot classified with the hope of collecting the first elections of progressive voters, they appear with the Lander and the former president of the National Democratic Committee to the voters.

“Not classifying Andrew Cuomo is the right thing to solidarity with the survivors of sexual harassment and assault. It is the right thing to turn the page in the future of a Democratic Party that does not continue to repeat the mistakes that have taken us here,” he continued.
How Lander’s late arrest could affect the race
While much of the care in the section has focused on Cuomo and Mamdani, Lander’s arrest while advocating the defendants in the immigration court could play in the race, the Democrats say.
Sharpton called Lander a “political martyr” in the interview with NBC News, adding that his combination of experience and progressive skills could lead to an increase. And while Rupert “strongly” condemned the arrest, he added that “the way in which the campaign will be reflected will be a positive net.”
The result will surely be not clear on Tuesday night, unless a candidate surprises the city by winning most of the first place. The result is more likely to be clarified in the coming weeks, since all votes are counted and the lower steps of the candidates fall and their votes are reassigned during the tabulation of classified election.
As in 2021, Democrats from all over the country will look at the city as an early indicator of what their voters want from them.
A New York Democratic strategist who requested anonymity to discuss the dynamics between the field full of people called the race as an interesting “interesting microcosm of what is produced nationwide among the Democrats.”
