Air India Dreamliner returns safely to Hong Kong after technical issue mid-air – World

The incident occurs days after an Air India flight to London, using the same type of Boeing plane, crashed in the western city of Ahmedabad moments after takeoff, killing 241 of the 242 people on board.

The Dreamliner Flying Air India Flight Ai315 aircraft outside Hong Kong on Monday is now experiencing checks, the source said.

AI315 returned to Hong Kong International Airport and requested the local reserve around 1 PM, then “landed safely around 1:15 pm,” said the spokesman for the Hong Kong airport authority.

The airport operations were not affected, added the spokesman.

The AI315 flight took off from Hong Kong around 12:20 pm and landed an hour later.

It reached an altitude of 22,000 feet and then began to descend, according to the flight track website Airnav radar. The plane was seven years old.

Boeing and Air India did not immediately respond to a request for comments on the flight of Hong Kong-New Delhi.

The accident of last week brings a new challenge for Air India, which for years has been trying to renew its fleet, and Boeing, which is trying to rebuild public confidence after a series of security and production crisis.
