Sydney Sweeney discusses gaining 30 pounds for Christy Martin biopic

Sydney Sweeney dedicated himself to embodying the pioneer boxer Christy Martin for an upcoming biographical film.

The actor shared that she won more than 30 pounds and spent months training for the role, telling W: “My body was completely different.”

“I loved it,” he said. “I came aboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training. I started eating. I trained with weight in the morning for an hour, Kickbox noon for approximately two hours and then trained with weight again at night for an hour.”

In the midst of his intense training and weight gain routine, Sweeney shared that he climbed four sizes and “did not fit in any of my clothes.”

“Usually, I’m size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My tits became bigger. And my butt became huge. It was crazy! I was like, oh my God,” according to the reports he laughed. “But it was incredible: it was as strong, like Crazy Strong.”

To become Martin, the star of “anyone but you” also had to wear brown contact lenses and a brown wig that was designed as a salmonte.

What is the biographical film about?

The Biographical Filmless film is directed by David Michod, who co -written the script with Mirrah Foulkes. The story continues to Martin’s rise to become one of the largest boxers in the 90s.

Martin made his boxing debut in 1989 and married Jim Martin, who was also his manager. Jim Martin was 25 years older than Christy Martin and abusive during his marriage. In 2010, he stabbed her and fired her in her chest. He is currently serving a 25 -year prison sentence.

Martin is the only boxer that appears on the cover of Sports Illustrated, is the first to sign with the famous promoter Don King, the first woman included in the International Boxing Hall of Fame and obtained the world title of Super Welter of Boxing in 2009. It was locked until 2012.

Sweeney and Martin gathered recently in New York for the champions parade on June 8.
