Country Conner Smith singer was involved in a car accident in Nashville on Sunday night he left a 77 -year -old woman, the police said.
Smith was driving his Chevrolet Silverado truck at 3rd Avenue North when he hit Dorothy Dobbins while walking at a pedestrian crossing, said Nashville’s Metropolitan Police Department in a press release. The accident occurred around 7:30 pm CT.
Dobbins, who lived nearby, was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Smith’s lawyer confirmed to Tennessean that the 24 -year -old “was involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life.”
“His heart is with Mrs. Dobbins’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Mr. Smith continues to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation,” said lawyer Worrick G. Robinson.
The authorities said that preliminary findings indicate that Smith failed to give up the right of passage to the pedestrian. He showed no disability sign, police said. No charges have been presented.
Smith, a Nashville Native, is signed with the Big Machine Records Valory label. He released his debut studio album “Smoky Mountains” last year.
