An explosion of gas cylinders killed six people on Saturday and wounded two others in the Mardán of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to police and rescue officials.
Mardan’s police officer, Zahoor Babar Afridi, confirmed the casualties and said Dawn.com“The explosion was caused by a gas cylinder.”
KP Rescue 1122 Billal Ahmad Faizi spokesman said that an explosion of cylinders in the Aram de Mardan neighborhood made the roof of a two -story house collapsara. He said: “Six people died and two girls were seriously injured in the accident.”
He added that rescue teams arrived at the site as soon as they received information about an alleged explosion inside the house.
Rescue teams 1122 continued rescue operations and rescued eight people, including a woman and children, buried under the rubble, he said.
The deputy commissioner of Mardan, Azmatullah Wazir, the emergency officer of the Syed Shoaib Mansoor district and the assistant commissioner Junaid Khalid were present at the scene and supervised the entire operation, he added.
He also said that more than one hundred 1122 rescue people participated and completed the operation in seven hours, eliminating dead and injured people and transferring them to the Mardan medical complex.
Fire incidents caused by escape and explosion of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders occur routinely throughout the country.
