On Tuesday there was a first information report (FIR) against a prayer leader for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12 -year -old boy inside a mosque in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Charsadda district, police said.
According to the FIR, a copy of which is available with Dawn.comThe plaintiff (victim) told the police that her teacher sexually assaulted him six days ago.
“I had not told anyone in my family because I was afraid of their reaction. But I gathered the courage and informed my father about all the terrible experience. I want justice for me and demand police action against the suspect, who used to disturb the students in the mosque,” said the FIR.
The Charsadda Police has presented the FIR under sections 377-B (punishment for sexual abuse) of the Pakistan Criminal Code and 53 (sexual abuse) of the Child Protection Law.
Talking with Dawn.comThe police officer of the Charsadda district, Suleman Zafar, confirmed the incident, saying: “I realized the incident and I have instructed the subdivision police officer of the respective area to take immediate measures.”
The FIR was filed by the victim’s complaint within the limits of the Blackan Police Station.
“More interrogations is being underway, but the preliminary report says that the child was a student of religious studies,” said Dpo Zafar. “The suspicious alleged is a resident of the Mohmand district, but lived in Charsadda.”
He said that the suspect, who is generally arrested very soon and that justice would be guaranteed by the victim’s family at all costs, adding that the elements involved in such atrocious crimes would not be forgiven under any circumstances.
