A tomato withdrawal due to the risk of Salmonella pollution has been elevated by the United States Food and Medicines Administration at its highest warning level.
The FDA marked tomato withdrawal that affected three states as class I, which means that there is a risk of adverse health consequences or death, “on May 28.
Williams Pharms Repack LLC announced for the first time that he was remembering the tomatoes, which were supplied by H&C Farms, on May 2 after being notified that there was a risk of having been contaminated with Salmonella.
Salmonella is a type of bacteria and one of the most common causes of fatal diseases transmitted by food in the United States, according to the United States disease control and prevention centers.
The symptoms of Salmonella infection range from non -existent in some people to diarrhea, fever, stomach pain or serious complications. Most people will recover without treatment, but high -risk groups, such as children under 5 years old and the elderly, may experience a more serious disease.
Diseases had not been reported when the withdrawal was announced.

The withdrawal of Williams Pharms Repack LLC affects nine sizes of tomato packages sold to wholesalers and distributors in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina between April 23 and 28.
