“Through the concept of ‘Swachh Sujal Gaon’ (clean and safe water villages), the Jal Jeevan Mission stall shows how Bundelkhand has changed since 2017. There was a time when water had to be transported to villages in Bundelkhand by train How people even died due to lack of availability of adequate and potable water. Since 2017 and more specifically since 2019, when the Jal Jeevan Mission was launched, drinking water through FHTC has become a reality in the villages of Bundelkhand. A record 2.35 million FHTCs have been provided in UP and this has brought about a significant makeover in the lives of the masses,” the minister said.

The ‘Swachh Sujal Gaon’ stall, which is already receiving rave reviews from the masses, has been set up by the Department of Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply in the Mahakumbh Mela area.
“The Jal Jeevan Mission stall at Maha Kumbh will represent the change that has come under the leadership and visionary approach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in UP. At the stall there will also be a digital representation of the importance of water conservation and drinking water,” the minister said.

“The heartwarming stories of the struggle for water in rural areas and the change brought about by the Jal Jeevan Mission have been effectively captured,” he said.
