A Jewish defense group has strongly condemned a “vile” video of an unknown person who performs what seems to be a fascist greeting in the parking lot of the Chick-Fil-A restaurant of American property in Burlington, Ontario.
The video, shared in X by the controversial rapper Ye, previously known as Kanye West, presents someone who mounts a motorized scooter with flashing lights and a video monitor. The person stops before doing twice what seems to be a Nazi greeting while Ye Heil Hitler Play on the monitor.
The video, which was published just after 6 in the morning of May 14, had obtained more than two million visits before it was eliminated on Wednesday.
CBC News has seen the video and could match it with the location of Burlington through Google Maps.
Richard Robertson, director of Research and Defense of B’Nai Brith Canada, said it is alarming that someone in Canada believes content like this, which is “clearly anti -Semitic.”
“It raises a lot of red flags at a time when anti -Semitism is increasing in this country and we are dealing with an anti -Semitism crisis,” Robertson told CBC Hamilton.

“For Mr. West to grant credit to this content by sharing it in his X account is simply deplorable. Mr. West has demonstrated through his recent actions that he does not care about the welfare of others, the well -being of the Jewish community, and that only does he mind inciting against the Jewish community, and that is exactly what he has done here.”
Video ‘Perpetuate fascist behavior’: Harrc
Ye’s song, Heil Hitler, It was launched just over a week ago. The song, praising Adolf Hitler, was posted on social media platforms and music transmission services. Most services eliminated the anti -Semitic track in a matter of daysBut he had already been seen and heard by millions.
The song and video of Heil Hitlerwhich glorifies the Nazi leader and includes a sample of a Hitler speech, remains on the social networks of Elon Musk X.
Lyndon George, executive director of the Hamilton Anti-Racism Resources Center, says that social networks such as X have the responsibility to tear down and stop the dissemination of hateful content, exemplified by Ye and exhibited song and exhibited in “The Racist Video” that was filmed in Burlington, Ont.
“The song of the song says everything and the video shown by the Strident Double Salute Nazi leaves no doubt,” George wrote in an email to CBC News. “The most recent publication of Kanye West’s social networks on X glorifying Nazism and praising Hitler, normalizes hatred, racism and anti -Semitism and perpetuates fascist behavior.”
CBC News tried to contact X Corp., the parent company of the social media platform, to comment, but did not receive an answer.
The song is ‘Vile’ and must be convicted: Robertson
Meanwhile, Robertson said Heil Hitler Song “Is Vile”, and added that the video filmed in Ontario is also something that must be condemned.
“This is not representative of Canadian values. This is a behavior that must be denounced in the strongest possible way and that should not be tolerated in our society,” Robertson added.
The song and video come when anti -Semitism seems to be increasing in Canada, with Canada Statistics informing a 71 percent increase in hate crimes aimed at the Jewish population between 2022 and 2023.
It also occurs a few months after the RCMP and other agencies of application of the law present a report that warns about the growing prominence of young people who are attracted to violent ideologies, with recruiters who use harmful social networks and game platforms such as Discord, Instagram, Roblox and Tiktok as foundations for hate.
CBC News has also communicated with the Regional Police Service of Chick-Fil-A and Halton to comment, but did not receive an answer. A woman who said she is one of the managers of the Burlington restaurant said they are not authorized to talk about the subject.
