‘President’s identification’: how Stephen Miller and his bare tactics are promoting Trump’s agenda

Outside President Donald Trump, no White House official has accumulated more influence on this administration than Stephen Miller, the 39 -year -old anti -immigrant crus whose brains and bare knuckle tactics have been deployed to boost the agenda of the commander in chief.
No vice president JD Vance. No Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. No one else.
It is Miller, the personnel of the White House personnel for politics, who loaded dozens of executive orders so that Trump signed in his first months of return in office, on issues ranging from the declaration of a national emergency on the southern border to dismantling diversity programs in the federal government and withdrawing to the United States of the World Health Organization.
“Stephen is the president’s identification,” said a former Trump advisor who knows Miller well. “He has been for a while. It is right now that he has leverage and power to completely do it.”
What is in a title? Miller’s attached title does not do justice to the amount of influence he has in the White House.
In an exchange of signals reported by the Atlantic in March, Miller silenced the interrogation of the vice president JD Vance of a battery pending military attacks in Yemen by stating that Trump had already given the “green light.” He has acquired so much authority about such a wide spectrum of policies that Trump told the “Meet The Press” moderator of NBC News, Kristen Welker, in an interview that it would be a “reduction” if he appointed Miller as a national security advisor, generally a high -profile role and highly coveted in any West Wing.
“Stephen is much higher in the totem than that,” Trump said.
Trump “said it” when he said that about Miller, said Trump’s main advisor. “I don’t know if there is any policy area in which your guide is not sought. The president does not always go with exactly what he wants, but his contribution is always heard.”
‘Untouchable’: Miller’s wife, Katie Miller, is a confidant of Elon Musk who worked on her Dogs team, and the couple has formed a close working relationship with the richest man in the world.
A Miller Ally said that Katie Miller has become a powerful force within the administration, and that the Millers, along with Sergio Gor, chief of White House personnel, are the only “untouchable” members of the Trump White House team.
‘Uh oh’: Even some of those who praised Miller in the interviews were reluctant to be identified because they were not sure what could be angry, or how the hard link could seek recovery. As a staff member in Capitol Hill, he threatened to turn activists into other Republican assistants when their bosses did not align behind their positions, recalled a republican party assistant.

Johnson tries to achieve balance between the Republicans of the blue state and the conservative hard funds

The speaker Mike Johnson, Republican of La-La., Is exploring ways to placate two rival factions that have become the largest obstacles in most of the narrow chamber for a massive bill for the agenda of President Donald Trump.
There is the Republicans representing districts in blue states of high tax who want a greater limit in state and local tax deduction, known as salt. The current version of the legislation raises the limit to $ 30,000, $ 10,000, for individual filing archivators. But that is not high enough for the pro-Salt Republicans.
Then they are Conservative hard courses who have pressed more steep cuts to Medicaid. They want the work requirements for the medical care program to be activated long before the date of 2029 required by the invoice.
After meeting with the Republicans of Salt Caucus and the members of Freedom Caucus on the right, Johnson suggested that there could be a margin of maneuver on those fronts.
“I am convinced that we can adjust the dial, so to speak, so that we can reach an agreement that meets the criteria that everyone has and that we can make this advance,” said Johnson.
“If you do more about salt, you have to find more savings. So these are the dials, the metaphorical dials, which I am talking about,” he said. “We are trying to do this in a neutral deficit way, that was the commitment we made all the time.”
When asked if Republicans will accelerate Medicaid’s work to extract greater savings in a revised plan, Johnson replied: “Everything is on the table.”
“That is the commitment that could work,” said representative Tim Burchett, Republican of Tenn., One of the conservatives and hard.
Problems to elaborate? But Johnson could have a problem to spend the next step in the process: the Chamber Budget Committee, which is scheduled to boost the bills that several committees have passed to a package on Friday. At least three conservatives in the panel, representatives Ralph Norman, RS.C., Chip Roy, R-Texas and Josh Brecheen, R-Okla., Have cited problems with the legislation as it is. And Republicans can only allow a dropout there.
Johnson has still expressed optimism that he can drag the billionaire package through the finish line in his self -imposed deadline for the day of the fallen.
