The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the former New Zealand Cricket player Mike Hesson as the new White-Ball chief coach (Odis E T20 Internationals) of the Pakistan male Cricket team, according to a press release issued by PCB.
Gary Kirsten, who resigned only seven months at work, left the vacant paper, after the differences with the PCB. Last year, AAQIB Javed temporarily received responsibility as chief coach of the white ball of Pakistan to the ICC Champions trophy next year.
The president of PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, went to X to welcome the new coach, saying: “After the evaluation of numerous requests received against the vacancy, I am pleased to announce that the former Cricket player in New Zealand and the renowned coach, Mike Hesson, will join us as the new chief coach of the white ball for the national team of Pakistan” of May 26.
“We expect your experience and guidance to shape the future of the Pakistani Cricket,” Naqvi added.
Mike Hesson, who is the current head coach of Islamabad United, previously served as Chief of New Zealand and Kenya coach, among other international teams.
Separately, Mohsin Naqvi also welcomed the appointment of AAQIB Javed as High Performance Director. In a publication in his X, he shared: “To strengthen our Cricket infrastructure, AAQIB Javed joins us as a high performance director, complementing Mike Hesson’s appointment as a white ball chief coach.”
Naqvi hoped that “together, they play a fundamental role in the evolution and success of the Pakistan Cricket.”
AAQIB Javed left his job as a chief coach after the ICC Champions Trophy this year held in February-March.
This comes only a few weeks before Bangladesh’s T20 team is scheduled to tour Pakistan since May 25 for a series of five games.
Pakistan, in recent years, has lived in slices in high -level international events, including the Asia 2023 Cup, the World Cup T20 T20 2023 ODI and the Champions Trophy.
