The rider who set up the sovereignty of the victory in the Kentucky derby last week received a fine of more than $ 60,000 for hitting the horse with his riding harvest too many times during the race, according to the authority of integrity and safety of the horses.
It was discovered that Junior Alvarado hit the horse with his riding harvest “more than the amount allowed” during the last week’s race, violating the rules of authority, he said in a statement on Saturday.
On Friday a fine was imposed against Alvarado for committing the rape of class 3 and was beaten with a fine equivalent to 10% of his earnings of $ 310,000, according to the statement. The fine then doubled “in accordance with a growing penalty structure for the violations of the real riding harvest in the previous 180 days”, which resulted in a fine of $ 62,000, according to Hisa.
It was discovered that Alvarado had hit sovereignty eight times during the Kentucky derby, which was his second offense in 180 days, by decision of Hisa. The Hisa protocol allows riders to hit horses a maximum of six times during a race.
Jockey was also suspended for two days of Kentucky racing, May 29 and 30, as a result of rape.
According to Hisa, the sanctions of the assembly harvest can be appealed by the audience before the internal award panel. Alvarado did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
Alvarado now has 30 days to pay the fine.
Jockey and sovereignty won the 151st Kentucky derby race last Saturday in Churchill Downs.
After the race, Alvarado, who grew up in Venezuela, said winning the derby was a dream of his since he was a child.
The rider suffered a shoulder injury and a fall ahead of the race, but won despite the probabilities.
