“Someone once said: ‘The Senate is where good ideas are going to die.’ They were right.
“I will not fight for a team that refuses to win, that protects its weakest players, and that undermines the same people who are supposed to serve,” he added.
Greene’s announcement comes a day after another Trump ally, representative Buddy Carter, a republican of G-G., Announced her candidacy for the Senate, making him the first important republican candidate in challenging Ossoff.
“Even with some good republicans in the Senate, nothing changes,” Greene said.
Greene had told the journalists on Wednesday that she “thought about it and spoke with my family this weekend” about setting up an offer from the Senate or entering the governor’s career.
“It’s really good to have options, and I will make a decision based where I think I can be more effective,” he said at that time.
A Greene spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comments on whether Greene had made a decision on the governor’s career.
The Republicans, who distrust Greene, have been looking for an alternative candidate after Georgia’s governor Brian Kemp said he would not enter the Senate’s career.
Greene said in his publication that he would defeat Ossoff “would be easy”, after earlier this week he rejected those who doubted that he could be chosen for the Senate.
“Yes, they said the same about Donald Trump when he ran in 2016 and said the same about him in 2024,” Greene told journalists on Wednesday when asked about the skeptics who suggested that he does not have the opportunity to take the Ossoff seat.
Greene was first chosen for the house in 2020.
Greene easily won the re -election last year, winning 64.4% of the votes in her district in a state that Trump flew after losing it to Joe Biden in 2020.
