North Korea’s Kim watches missile test-firings from country’s first destroyer

Seul, North South-Korea Korea said Wednesday that the leader Kim Jong had observed the first missile tests of a recently released destroyer, the first warship for the north, and asked for accelerating efforts to strengthen the nuclear attack capabilities of his Navy.

Last week, North Korea presented the 5,000 -ton destroyer equipped with what he called the most powerful weapons built in his ship industry of ships of ships of warships. During Friday’s launching ceremony in the western port of Nampo, Kim described the construction of the “Un advance” ship in the modernization of North Korean naval forces.

External experts say that it is the first destroyer of North Korea and that it was probably built with Russian assistance. They say that the naval forces of North Korea are left behind those of South Korea, but still consider that the destroyer is a serious security threat, since it could reinforce the attack and defense capabilities of North Korea.

The official Coreana news agency said Wednesday that Kim saw the tests of the supersonic and strategic cruise missiles of the destroyer, anti -aircraft missiles, automatic weapons and electronic traffic jam weapons earlier this week.

He appreciated the combination of the ship of powerful attacks of attack and conventional defenses and established tasks to accelerate the nuclear arm of his Navy, according to the report.

During the ship’s launch ceremony, Kim said the destroyer would be deployed at the beginning of next year. He said that the acquisition of a submarine with nuclear energy would be his next great step to strengthen his Navy. He underlined the need to reinforce North Korea’s deterrence ability to deal with what he called the US -led hostilities directed to the North.

An analysis of the photos of the war ship shows that its anti-Aire radar system is very likely from Russia, said Lee Illwoo, an expert in the Korean defense network in South Korea. He said that the war system of the warship and some of its anti -aircraft weapons systems also probably come from Russia.

North Korea and Russia have been drastically expanding military cooperation and another in recent years, and the north supplies conventional troops and weapons to support Russia’s war efforts against Ukraine. The United States, South Korea and its partners concern that Russia probably in return provides North Korea high -tech weapons technologies that can improve its nuclear program, as well as send another military and economic assistance.

Lee said that the deployment of a war ship with an advanced radar system on the west coast of North Korea could strongly reinforce its air defense capabilities for Pyongyang, the capital. Lee said that South Korea, which has 12 destroyers, still greatly surpasses the naval forces of North Korea. But he said that the North Korean destroyer, which can transport about 80 missiles, can still represent a serious threat, since the South Korean Navy has probably not prepared for an enemy war ship.

The animosities in the Korean Peninsula are being executed as North Korea continues their weapons test activities aimed at expanding their nuclear and missile arsenals. On Monday, North Korea confirmed for the first time that he had sent Russia fighting troops to support his war efforts against Ukraine. The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, thanked North Korea and promised not to forget the sacrifices of North Korean soldiers for Russia.
