In a NFL draft season that has lacked a large extent of drama or intrigue, a prospect has apparently been compensating for the shortage of stories by itself.
Shedeur Sanders, former Buffaloes Campoes Marshal and son of the Fame Hall of Football Deion Sanders, has been one of the most commented names that goes to Thursday’s event. That is without Any type of consensus on how serious its professional potential is really, with the forecasts that speculate that Sanders could be chosen as high as number 3 in general by New York giants, No. 9 by the Saints of New Orleans or outside the first round completely.
And as much as Sanders has been examined for his game in the field, they have also separated it.
According to the reports, a Quarterback coach referred to Sanders as “shameless” and “arrogant.” Another assistant coach told NFL Network that he had “right” after what he described as “the worst formal interview” of which he had been part.
It is a narrative that Sanders is not paying before the draft.
“I really have no space for negativity, so he does not play a factor in my life at all,” Sanders told NBC News in April about anonymous comments. “I understand that the easiest thing in the world is to be negative instead of positive. I really don’t care what people have to say.”
Sanders said that, as the son of one of the most electric personalities of the NFL, he feels prepared for the noise that surrounds him. And he has not been afraid to do things that attract attention, such as when he flexed his $ 70,000 clock to opponents and fans in a celebration after the game, a movement that has issued a series of professionals.
“I am happy that everything is happening in this way. I like chaos, because it shows you who is really there,” Sanders said. “I would not change anything, because this adds to the story. People who hate a child without reason. I did not get into problems outside the field. So you understand what it really is.”
With regard to its real field marshal, Sanders is a complicated projection. In his two years with the Buffaloes, he launched 64 TouchDowns and in his last year he completed 74% of his passes. But he also took 94 captures in the last two seasons, perhaps a sign that he often clings to the ball for too long.
Even so, Sanders was ultimately a key member to turn Colorado from a team of a victory the year before that he arrived in 2022 to a team of nine wins in 2024.
To help navigate the draft process, Sanders has supported some previous field marshal who have been more than willing to help him advise him. He said Michael Vick, Byron Leftwich and Robert Griffin III are among those who have spoken in advance of his NFL career.
“Many old African -American field marshal who understand what is happening in society and are only older brothers to me,” he said. “Leaning on those relationships every time things get difficult. They help me overcome what I need to happen.”
Once the Draft begins on Thursday night, where Sanders is chosen will be one of the most dramatic moments of the transmission. But he said he would not expect a great sample of emotion when he is finally selected.
“It’s something that comes with playing football that I played,” says Sanders, and adds that he will be more excited to see where some of his friends land. “I feel that this will happen. If it were a big surprise for me, then I would not feel that I would win it. That is what will be in my mind.”
What if Sanders goes third in general to the giants, leaving him in New York and a city desperate for a good quarterback?
“I don’t think there is a field marshal who is ever prepared for that more than me.”
