The rapper Sean Kingston, who, together with his mother, was declared guilty of federal fraud to the cable last month, was held in a federal prison for several days after initially he could not complete a bail of $ 100,000, according to judicial records.
The 35 -year -old singer, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, could not satisfy Bond and was ordered during an audience on April 10 to be sent under the custody of the US sheriffs waiting for his sentence.
He was arrested at the Federal Detention Center in Miami, according to the Federal Prison Office website.
Zeljka Bozanic, Kingston’s lawyer, told NBC News on Tuesday that Kingston’s link was published and “is in the process of being released.”
Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were accused in July 2024, accused of using the influence of rapper celebrities and social media accounts to convince sellers of luxury products, from jewelry to beds and cars, to deliver items before payment, then made fraudulent transfers and no wire value.
In total, their scheme, which lasted from April 2023 to March 2024, saw them defraud sellers of more than $ 1 million, prosecutors said. Some of the luxury items included a bulletproof, watches and a 232 -inch LED TV.
They were declared guilty for a conspiracy charge to commit electronic fraud and four charges of electronic fraud in March by a federal jury in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After the guilt verdict, Kingston was ordered to be limited to house arrest with electronic monitoring and was ordered to publish a bond of a house valued at $ 500,000 and $ 200,000 in cash. Turner, 61, was sent to federal custody.
They are scheduled to be sentenced on July 11. They face up to 20 years in prison for each position.
