The tenth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) formally began on Thursday with an opening ceremony at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars will play with each other in the first game of the tournament at 8:30 pm

5,000 police deployed for ‘infallible’ security
Rawalpindi police have established “infallible” security measures, including providing 5,000 police officers for the tournament, according to a police spokesman.
Security arrangements have been carried out in coordination with the Pakistan army, the Rangers and other agencies. In addition, special police teams have been deployed, including the Dolphin Force personnel, the elite force around the stadium and more than 376 Transit Police personnel.

The Inspector General of Police of Islamabad (IGP), Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, presided over a key meeting on Thursday to review the security arrangements where he explained that infallible security for players in their hotels would be guaranteed.

The PPE added that Safe City intelligent cars, mobile jammers and surveillance vehicles would be implemented in the convoy to improve security and guarantee effective monitoring.
