Rawalpindi police have established “infallible” security measures, which include providing 5,000 police officers in preparation for HBL Pakistan Super League X, starting today at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium according to a police spokesman.
The HBL PSL X 2025 will begin with Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars playing one against the other preceded by a brilliant opening ceremony. The six team tournament will see 34 games played from April 11 to May 18.
Security arrangements have been made in coordination with the Pakistan army, rangers and other agencies. In addition, special police teams have been deployed, including the Dolphin Force personnel, the elite force around the stadium and more than 376 Transit Police personnel.
The arrangements will be supervised by the Regional Police officer Babar Sarfraz Alpa and the police officer of the city Syed Khalid Hamdani along with other high -ranking officers.
According to the report, visitors would only be allowed to enter through a doorway and after a full body search. Other security measures include a special control room dedicated to monitoring the stadium, as well as the rest of the city through Safe City and other CCTV cameras.
The Inspector General of Police of Islamabad (IGP), Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, presided over a key meeting on Thursday to review the security arrangements where he explained that infallible security for players in their hotels would be guaranteed.
During their movement, all routes will be verified thoroughly by pump removal squads and monitored through security cameras. The PPE added that Safe City intelligent cars, mobile jammers and surveillance vehicles would be implemented in the convoy to improve security and guarantee effective monitoring.
The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will organize 11 games, including the qualifier on May 13. Lahore Gaddafi Stadium is ready to organize 13 games, while the Karachi National Bank Stadium will organize 11 games.
