Over 100,000 Canadians already voted as election campaign hits halfway point

Canadians seem more motivated to vote early in these elections than during the last campaign, according to the numbers of the Canada elections.

In the absence of 20 days before the voting day, more than 130,000 Canadians had already thrown their vote. That is more than double the number released at this point in the 2021 elections.

Canada’s electoral rules allow voters to emit their ballot at any time during the campaign, provided they know the name of their favorite local candidate.

The Canada elections issue special ballots to Canadians who do not want to wait until the day of the elections or for early surveys. Voters can cast their ballot by mail or in the local Elections office of Canada in their driving.

A Canadian election spokesman told CBC News that until Tuesday, approximately 348,000 Canadians had requested a special vote so far. That is approximately 4,000 more than what had been applied during the 2021 campaign. But only 45,000 had returned their tickets at this time the last elections.

“At this point in the electoral cycle, approximately the same number [of special ballots] They have been issued. But more have been returned in these current elections than at this point of the previous elections, “said a Canadian election spokesman in an email.
