The extreme right politician gathers supporters after being convicted of embezzlement of the European Parliament.
The extreme right leader of France, Marine Le Pen, called her to the conviction as a “political decision” and promised to move forward after they declared her guilty of embezzlement and forbidden to participate in elections, including the 2027 presidential vote.
“I will not give up,” Le Pen told the members of his National Rally Party and followers who packed the place Vauban in Paris on Sunday with the brilliant golden dome of the National DES Inval Hotel in the background.
He also denounced a “witch hunt”, a phrase used by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, against his party.
Some leftist groups and the centrist camp organized contrademantes in the place of Republique in Paris against the right end, looking for what they said it was justice and a united front against the national demonstration.
The judges who condemned Le Pen have received threats.
Jordan Bardella, the best lieutenant of Le Pen and head of the national demonstration, told the gathering that the court ruling was to “eliminate it from the presidential race.”
Bardella said the party did not want to “discredit all the judges”, but the condemnation of Le Pen was “a direct attack on democracy and a wound for millions of patriotic French.”
Monday’s trial, which could crush Le Pen to win the French presidency in two years, surprised the political establishment of the country.
Le Pen appeal
Natacha Butler de Al Jazeera, who reports from Paris, said that Le Pen expects the part of the court to decide on his inelegability for the candidacy can be raised or shortened so he can run in the next elections.
“The Court of Appeals in Paris said there is a possibility that he can examine his appeal in the middle of next year,” Butler said.
“Time would possibly allow you to run in 2027,” he added.
Before Sunday’s demonstration, Le Pen urged his supporters to inspire himself in one of the defenders of preeminent American non -violence in the struggle for equal rights for black Americans.
“We will follow the example of Martin Luther King, who defended civil rights,” members of the Italian right -wing party through Videolink told the members of the right -wing league while they knew each other in Florence.
At a recaptorist meeting of President Emmanuel Macron in the suburb of the working class of northern Saint-Denis, former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal accused the extreme right of “attacking our judges, attacking our institutions.”
“We, here, will never disqualify a judicial decision,” said Attal, speaking in the presence of Prime Minister Francois Bayrou and Edouard Philippe, a former prime minister who also hopes to run in the presidential elections of 2027.
“You steal, you pay,” said Attal.
He also denounced “unprecedented interference” in the affairs of France, apparently pointing out the support of Le Pen of people such as Trump and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Criticism of triumph
The president of the United States described Le Pen, a “witch hunt” by “European leftists who use the law to silence freedom of expression and censor his political opponent.”
Le Pen was convicted of embezzlement of the European Parliament and gave him a partially suspended prison period and an immediate prohibition of occupying a public office.
His supporters described the policy motivated, but Macron insisted that the French judiciary is “independent.”
Le Pen has worked to turn his party into an eligible force and get rid of his father’s legacy, his co-founder Jean-Marie Le Pen, who died in January and was often accused of racism.
The last survey conducted by Elabe as a pollster for the BFMTV station, published on Saturday, suggested that it could win up to 36 percent of the votes.
