NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Delhi’s Kalkaji assembly constituency, Ramesh Bidhuri was hit by AAP National coordinator Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday for his comments on Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.
In a video shared on AAP and Kejriwal’s social media, Bidhuri, who will face Atishi in the upcoming Delhi Assembly pollsHe can be heard saying: “Marlena has changed her father.” “Atishi became Marlena’s Singh,” Bidhuri also said.
Arvind Kejriwal reacted strongly to the statement and slammed Bidhuri and the BJP. “BJP leaders have crossed all limits of shamelessness. BJP leaders are abusing Delhi Chief Minister Atishi ji,” he alleged.
Further, calling for “revenge”, she added: “The people of Delhi will not tolerate the insult of a chief minister. All the women of Delhi will take revenge for this.”
The AAP also reacted to X’s statement saying, “BJP once again showed its ‘anti-women face’.” “Abusive BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri used vulgar and dirty language against Chief Minister @AtishiAAP. Seeing his defeat close at hand, the BJP has become so desperate that it is openly abusing women,” they added criticizing the comments and defending to Atishi.
AAP’s chief national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar also expressed anger over the comments and said, “The kind of language BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri has used for Chief Minister Atishi ji shows his mentality. If These people can say such things about a Chief Minister, so if they win by mistake, how will they behave with common women?
This comes after Bidhuri, earlier in the day, apologized for comments about Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi. “I assure you that just as we made the roads in Okhla and Sangam Vihar, we will make all the roads in Kalkaji like Priyanka Gandhi’s cheeks,” he was heard saying in the alleged video, which went viral on social media.
Bidhuri, expressed “regret” after a huge row broke out following his comments. Speaking to news agency ANI, he said: “I express my regret and take back my words.”
