Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated on Friday the effective and transparent implementation of the Ramazan’s help package and ordered officials to emulate the model in future government schemes.
While presiding over a meeting to review the implementation of the package, the prime minister praised the performance of the central team of the government and support institutions.
He said that the first digital wallet was introduced under the package, with funds delivered to the beneficiaries transparently.
Prime Minister Shehbaz stressed that the scheme was introduced throughout the country, which included Gilgit-Baltist and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) also appreciated the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA), the National Data Authority and the Registration Authority, and other support institutions to guarantee transparency in the process.
He told the participants of the meeting that the complaints received during the execution of the package would be considered for future planning.
During the informative session, it was announced that 79 percent of the funds had been delivered to the beneficiaries. In addition, a total of 2,224 employees were deployed, and urgent measures were taken to resolve the 1,273 complaints received.
In addition to that, 1.9 million digital payments were made, with 951,191 digital wallets used, which is part of the government’s movement towards the vision of Pakistan of the digital nation.
Participants were told that 823,653 women and 2,541 people with disabilities also used digital wallets to receive funds.
In addition, it was told to the meeting that the government awareness campaign in the Ramazan package was carried out through electronic, printed and social networks.
In addition, banks and other associated institutions had obtained 6.2 million Robocalls, 178,700 output calls, and had sent 6.1 million SMS messages to raise awareness about the installation.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, praised the success of the Ramazan package, stating that it was carried out without any intermediary.
Speaking today at a press conference, Iqbal said that the package had established a new precedent, which hosted the public-private association.
“The Government, under the digital vision of Pakistan, decided to wear digital wallets for mass and digital transfer,” he said, added that people would complain about leaks through intermediaries.
He added that this time no other Media or Store Store (USC) corporations were used for the Ramazan package, resulting in less leaks.
