5 of a family killed, 3 injured as jeep plunges into ravine in KP’s Shangla: officials – Pakistan

At least five members of a family died and three others were seriously injured on Thursday when a Jeep submerged in a ravine in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kotkay area, the Shangla district in the midst of slippery conditions and heavy rains, according to officials.

Alpuri Station House Officer (SHO) Mohammad Arif Khan said Dawn.com that a family headed for Peshawar to see one of his relatives to Saudi Arabia.

“When they arrived at the Alpuri Kotkay area, his car slipped off the road and immersed himself in the ravine, which resulted in five deaths and three injuries,” said Arif, and added that the eight victims belonged to the same family.

Rasool Khan Sharif, a rescue damp 1122, said Dawn.com That after receiving an emergency call, his team reached the location and transferred three bodies and five injured to the Hospital of the Alpuri District headquarters.

According to the sho, two of them succumbed to their wounds on the way to the hospital.

He said that a total of five were dead and three were injured in the incident, and the cause of the fatal accident seemed to be a strong rain and a slippery path.

Sho Khan said that the family came from the Martung Tehsil P that area.

He identified the deceased as Mohammad Salman, Rehmatullah, Amir Sohail, Mohammad Faisal and Afzal Khan.

He said he was present at the Hospital of the District headquarters and making arrangements to send the bodies to Pishor while the injured were taken to Swat’s teaching hopsital, since his condition was critical.

Earlier this month, the provincial general secretary of the National Party Awami (ANP), Mutawakil Khan, was killed in a traffic accident and rested in his ancestral cemetery in Barkana, Shahpur.

His funeral attended the Federal Minister of Cashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, Amir Muqam, the provincial president of Mian Iftikhar Hussain, the general secretary of ANP Salem Khan, local leaders of PPP and other political parties, civil society and people from all areas of life.

The authorities of the Karora police station said he was going home in a Jeep after offering condolences to relatives of a deceased person when the vehicle’s brakes failed and fell to a ravine in the Shangla bleeding area. As a result, Mutawakil died on the spot.
