Nueva Delhi: After a mass confrontation in Parliament with BJP on the attached comment of Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar, head of Congress Malliakarjun Kharge On Monday he would take legal actions against JP Nadda and Kiren Rijiju for making a “false claim.”
Kharge also said that the BJP has been raising the issue of Karnataka’s quota to “hide his corruption.”

A heated argument broke out between the leader of the opposition Mallikarjun Kharge and the president of BJP, JP Nadda in Rajya Sabha, with the latter questioning the 4% reserve movement of the Karnataka government to minorities while assigning contracts to work in the state.
Slammando the movement, the president of BJP, JP Nadda, questioned the rhetoric of “saving the Constitution” of Congress. “Ye Ambedkar Ke Rakhwaale Bante Hain (these people claim to be Ambedkar saviors),” he said, adding: “Sardar Patel and Ambedkar had said that the reservation in the name of religion will take place.” Kharge made it clear that “Karnataka Minister did not make such a statement.”

His claims were dismissed by the president of BJP, JP Nadda, who said that “what is the opposition leader he said is a complete and false lie.” He repeated the statement that DKS talked about “changing the Constitution.”
“Samvidhan Congress, Ne Diya Hai, Samvidhan Ko Badalne Ka Kaam B Congress Karegi,” he said citing him as DKS’s comment.
Kharge, in a summary of the press after Parliament was postponed, said: “The Congress party and other matches in Karnataka, all together they accepted the reserve initiated in 1994. That reservation has been there since then … continuing until today. But what is your problem?
The controversy exploded after Shivakumar, in an event on Sunday, said that the “Constitution will change” while discussing a bill that granted a 4% reserve to minorities and other classes back in public contracts.
His comments triggered a political storm, causing strong criticism of BJP leaders. Meanwhile, the Karnataka state cabinet has approved an amendment to the Karnataka Transparency Law in Public Procurement (KTPP), aimed at reserving 4% of tenders for minority contractors.
In addition, the main whip of Congress in Rajya Sabha, Jairam Ramesh, notified Monday about the breach of privilege against the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, for “deceiving” the Chamber on alleged statements made Shivakumar. Ramesh notified under rule 188 of the rules of procedure and business conduct in the Council of States (Rajya Sabha).
