A day after the Supreme Court made the unprecedented movement to publicly release an integral report detailing the accusations against Judge Yashwant Varma of the Superior Court of Delhi, after a fire Incident in his residence on March 14 that resulted in the alleged discovery of unfashed cash, the videos are emerging in line of burned currency notes that were found near the facilities of the judge’s house.
Inderjeet, a sanitation worker involved in cleaning the area, reported having found burned parts of 500 notes while collecting trash nearby. He pointed out that similar findings had been made days before, but expressed uncertainty about how the fire began or where it originated.
“We work in this circle. We collect garbage from the roads. We were cleaning here 4-5 days ago and collecting garbage when we find some small pieces of RS 500 burned notes. We found it that day. Now, we have found 1-2 pieces … We don’t know where a fire exploded. All we do is collect garbage, “he said.
Another sanitation worker, Surender, said: “We work with these garbage vans, we collect garbage. They have spent 4-5 days when we find burned notes of RS 500. We found some pieces even now …”
SC launch report
The report published by the SC revealed that four or five captures of burned currency notes were discovered in a latrine used as a warehouse, which raises serious concerns about the source of cash found in the judge’s house.
Judge Varma, who was not present during the incident, has vehemently denied any irregularity, stating that neither he nor his family once stored cash in that room.
He described the accusations as a “conspiracy to frame and defame”, expressing his turning through the content of a video published by the Supreme Court that represented carbonized cash packages.
The consultation report, made public at the end of March 22, included photographs and videos of the fire extinction operation that took place after a short circuit lit the fire.
The president of the Superior Court of Delhi, Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, indicated that there was no forced entry evidence to the warehouse, which suggests that only the people associated with Judge Varma had access to him.
In response to these developments, the Supreme Court has formed a three -members committee to conduct deeper investigation into the matter.
The Committee will explore the origins of the cash and evaluate any potential participation of the personnel of the VARMA or other parties.
As this investigation takes place, Judge Varma has been aimed at not participating in judicial tasks until further notice.
