MANSEHRA: Deputy Inspector General of Hazara Range Police Nasir Mehmood Satti on Friday visited the Balakot hydropower project site here and assured Chinese engineers and workers of its foolproof safety.
“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has been taking all possible measures to ensure your foolproof security so that you can work with complete peace of mind,” the DIG told Chinese engineers and workers at the Balakot project site.
Accompanied by district police officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur, Satti also met army officials to discuss security and other relevant issues.
Satti praised Chinese citizens for contributing to the development and prosperity of Pakistan.

Addressing police personnel deployed for the safety of Chinese citizens, Satti emphasized zero tolerance for negligence.
“It must be ensured that no unauthorized person accesses the project sites, while the movement of Chinese engineers and workers must be managed in accordance with strict security protocols,” he said.
The DIG said a multi-level security mechanism, which is already in place for the safety of Chinese engineers, should be strengthened to avoid any mishap.
Chinese officials briefed him on the progress of projects being carried out along the Kunhar River.
They said the 300-megawatt Balakot hydropower project in the Kaghan Valley was the largest initiative of its kind by the Pakhtunkhwa Power Development Organization, with financial assistance coming from the Chinese government.
WOUNDED: Four people suffered serious injuries when two rival groups clashed over a marriage dispute in a tent village here on Friday.
According to police, both groups threw rocks and stones at each other, injuring four people, who were rushed to King Abdullah University Hospital.
The incident occurred after those groups settled in the tented village along Abbottabad Road quarreled over a marriage dispute.
Police registered an FIR and launched raids to arrest the attackers, who fled after the encounter.
Residents of the Channia area, which is home to the tent village, claimed that the groups had migrated from Punjab and were engaged in begging.
They demanded the police to take strict action against those involved in such activities and other crimes.
