Nueva Delhi: on Friday there was a petition in a Bihar Court against Prime Minister Niten Kumar in search of measures against him for alleged “disrespect” to the national anthem in a public event in Patna.
In the plea, local lawyer Suraj Kumar claimed that Prime Minister’s actions during the inauguration of a sporting event on Thursday “brought a state discount.”
The defender presented the statement to the Additional Chief Judicial Judge (West) in Muzaffur and sought a police action against the CM under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya National Honor Law (BNS) and the prevention of the insult to the National Honor Law.
The court has scheduled the matter for the hearing on March 25.
A day before, the opposition leader, Texashwi Yadav, from the RJD, digged Nitist Kumar and shared a video in which Kumar allegedly, “he insulted the national anthem.”
“At least, please, do not insult the national anthem, the honorable main minister,” Yadav said in X.
“Insults young people, students, women and older people every day. Sometimes they applaud on the martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi and make fun of their martyrdom, sometimes they applaud in the national anthem!” Added.
In addition, Yadav said that whatever the CM says and does so involves a lot of weight and responsibility, and its continuing possession such as CM is a “matter of serious concern” for Bihar.
“Remember that you are the prime minister of a great state. You are not physically or mentally stable even for a few seconds. Your continuation in this position in such a state is a great concern for the State. Do not repeatedly insult Bihar like this.” The video of the alleged incident was also shared by RJD Supreme and former Prime Minister Lalu Prasad, who commented: “India will not resist the insult of the national anthem.”
This is not the first time that the actions or statements of Niten Kumar in public have raised their eyebrows. The opposition has constantly questioned his health and ability to govern Bihar. Texashwi Yadav has been particularly vocal, demanding Kumar’s resignation about his alleged behavior. “Now we feel sorry for Niten Kumar. His repeated speeches and actions in the Chamber clearly show that it is not normal. For the good of Bihar, he must resign on his own,” Yadav said on Wednesday.
However, Nithis Kumar’s son, Nishant and other JD (U) leaders have dismissed concerns about their health, insisting that he remains suitable for governing.
