A senator of the State of Minnesota faces calls to resign after being arrested and accused of organizing request a teenager for prostitution.
Justin Eichorn, a Republican, thought he was talking to a 17 -year -old girl when she organized a meeting in Bloomington, a minneapolis suburb, police said, but in reality she was communicating with an undercover detective.
Eichorn came to the location in a truck and was arrested on Monday “Without incident,” said Bloomington police.
The records show that he was being arrested in the Hennepin County prison on Wednesday morning. It was not clear if he had retained a lawyer, and his Senate office did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
Police said he was being investigated in relation to possible charges of serious crime to request a minor for prostitution. The Hennepin County Prosecutor’s Office said Wednesday morning that he had not yet received the case.

“As a 40 -year -old man, if you arrive at the Orange Monkeys District who seeks to have sex with someone’s son, you can expect us to lock you,” Hodges said in a statement on Tuesday.
Republican leaders of the Chamber of Representatives of Minnesota, President Lisa Demuth and leader Harry Niskka, said in a joint statement: “Given the severity of the charges, Senator Eichorn should resign.
The Senate Republican Caucus also asked Eichorn to resign.
“We are shocked by these reports and this alleged conduct demands an immediate resignation,” Caucus said in a statement. “Justin has a difficult path ahead and needs to concentrate on his family.”
Eichorn is married and has four children, according to his biography on the Minnesota Senate website.
Recently, he gained notoriety for sponsoring a proposed bill that would recognize the “Trump Disorder Syndrome” as a form of mental illness. Eichorn is the second senator of Minnesota in the position facing charges for serious crimes.
