University of Balochistan closed indefinitely, classes moved online – Pakistan

The University of Baluchistan has been closed indefinitely and classes moved online, according to a notification issued by its registrar on Tuesday.

The notification, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com He does not quote a reason for closing, but the safety situation in Baluchistan has deteriorated in recent times due to an increasing number of attacks on security forces.

“The University of Baluchistan, including all campuses, to carry out their online academic activities,” said the notification.

“The Information Technology Directorate is aimed at changing all online data,” added the notification.

The notification added that the deans and the directors were aimed at presenting weekly performance reports to the registrar’s office and the university staff are told to be informed to their offices as usual.

The militants in Baluchistan, previously involved in a low -level insurgency, have recently intensified their attacks. The successful Liberation Army of Baluchistan, in particular, has adopted new tactics to cause higher casualties and directly go to Pakistani security forces.

On Sunday, a suicide bomber transmitted by the vehicle attacked a convoy of the security forces in the Noskhi district of Baluchistan, leaving three security personnel and two martyred civilians, in the last attack of militants in the province.

Sunday’s incident occurred after a policeman was martyred last night, while another six were injured in an explosion near a vehicle of the Baluchistan anti -terrorism force (ATF) in Quetta.

It also follows the recent kidnapping of Jaffar Express trains near the Sibi area of ​​Baluchistan, in which 26 hostages, including 18 security personnel, lost their lives. Five more security personnel were martyred during the operation.

After the attack, the military promised to take decisive measures against terrorists operating in Baluchistan, along with their reports and facilitators, both inside and outside the country.
