Nueva Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party criticized the leader of the Rahul Gandhi Congress for, according to reports, travel to Vietnam, his second visit to the country this year.
During a press conference, the deputy of BJP, Ravi Shankar Prasad, threw doubts about the frequency of Rahul’s visits to Vietnam and said that the opposition leader in the Lok Sabha must explain his fondness for the Asian country of the southeast.
“One heard that Rahul Gandhi was in Vietnam for Holi after being there during the New Year as well. It is spending more time in Vietnam than in its constituency. He needs to explain his extraordinary love for Vietnam, ”said Prasad.
“The frequency of your visits to that country is very curious,” he added.
Rahul’s recent trip occurs months after traveling to Vietnam during the seven -day national mourning period for former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
In early January, the BJP had claimed that Rahul “exploded” the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his “convenient policy” and flew to Vietnam to sound in the new year while the country cried his death.
“While the country is mourning due to the disappearance of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi has flown to Vietnam to sound in the New Year. Rahul Gandhi politicized and exploded the death of Dr. Singh for his convenient policy, but his contempt for him cannot be done,” said Amit Malviya of BJP.
The Congress party refuted the accusations and remained silent about the controversy surrounding Rahul Gandhi to Vietnam during the seven -day mourning period declared by the center.
The main leader of the Congress and former Prime Minister of Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat, defended Rahul’s visit to Vietnam, saying that the party leader was visiting the country of Southeast Asia “to study his economic model.”
“I think he has gone to Vietnam to study his economy and social system, which are currently a model. He has gone there to study his economic model … If after a difficult and busy electoral year, he, as an individual, takes time for himself, why is the BJP trying to seek a political turn in it?” Congress leader Harish Rawat had said.
