Nueva Delhi: former MLA congress and the leader of the Bamber Thakur party was shot by assailants not identified in his residence in Bilaspur on Friday. The attack took place while he was at home when the armed attackers opened fire.
According to the reports, around 12 rounds were shot during the attack. Thakur and his personal security officer (PSO) suffered gunshot wounds on their back and abdomen. Initially, Thakur was transferred to a safe place, while his PSO was taken directly to the hospital. Later, Thakur was also hospitalized.
Both have been transferred from the Bilaspur Regional Hospital to Aiims Bilaspur for advanced treatment. The police are investigating the incident and efforts are being made to identify the attackers.
