Islamabad: The Federal Minister of National Health Services, Mustafa Kamal, contacted the provincial health ministers on Thursday to make a collective strategy to address health -related problems.
He made telephone calls with Punjab Minister of Health, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Sindh Minister of Health, Azra Fazal Pechuho, Baluchistan Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, advisor to Prime Minister of Health Ehtisham Ali.
According to a statement, they agreed to work together to improve health centers and also discussed the ongoing health projects. The provincial ministers said they would cooperate with the center in the best interest of the masses.
Meanwhile, the executive director of Greenstar, Dr. Syed Azizur Raba met with the Minister of Health, Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath.
According to a statement, they exchanged opinions on the integration of health and population welfare efforts.
Dr. Bharath stressed that the growing population of the country raised a significant challenge and emphasized the need to guarantee access to family planning services, especially in urban marginal neighborhoods.
“The government and the private sector must collaborate to address the growing problem of the population,” he said, underlining the importance of raising awareness of family planning and guaranteeing the availability of affordable contraceptive options.
The CEO of Greenstar informed the minister about existing initiatives, sharing that 130 maternal and child health centers have been established in Punjab and 70 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to provide essential family planning services.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen public-private partnerships in medical care and improve access to reproductive health services throughout the country.
