Nueva Delhi: Mauricio’s prime minister, Navincandra Ramgoolam, announced Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be conferred with the highest civil prize in the country, the great commander of the Order of the Star and the key of the Indian Ocean (GCSK).
With this honor, Prime Minister Modi becomes the first Indian to receive Mauricio’s highest award. It also adds to its growing list of international praise, which makes it the 21 recognition granted by a foreign nation.

The announcement occurs during the two -day visit of Prime Minister Modi to Mauricio, where he attended the national day’s celebrations as the main guest.
When expressing his gratitude, Prime Minister Modi said: “I humbly accept this decision with great respect. It is an honor for the historical link between India and Mauricio.” He thanked Mauricio’s people and government for the prestigious recognition.
Mauricio’s prime minister, Ramgoolam, said that this distinguished award is reserved for people who have made exceptional contributions to the nation. The prize further symbolizes the rooted ties between the two countries, which reflects its shared history and cooperation in several fields.
