New Delhi: Tuesday’s Electoral Commission invited national and state presidents and higher leaders for interaction to strengthen even more electoral processes.
In the midst of the ongoing fight with the opposition about the duplicity in the photographic identity cards of some voters, the commission welcomed the suggestions before April 30.

“Political parties are one of the key interested parties between 28 interested parties identified by the Commission according to the Constitution and the statutory framework that covers all aspects of the electoral processes. ECI’s website) has established a decentralized, robust and transparent legal framework to celebrate free and fair elections, “he added.
This occurs days after the EC approached the concerns regarding voters in different states that have identical photography card numbers (EPIC).
In response to social media publications and media reports, the CE clarified that although some voters can share the same Epic numberIts demographic details, the constituency of the assembly and the voting cabin remain different.
Each voter can only cast their vote in its designated voting station in their respective state or trade union territory.
The commission explained that duplication occurred due to a decentralized and manual process used before the electoral roll database was integrated into the Eronet System.
Any identified duplicate number will be rectified, and the Eronet 2.0 platform will be updated to optimize the process. The epic numbers serve as unique identifiers for voters registered in India, printed on voting identification cards and used for electoral rolls.
They are crucial to maintain transparency and prevent fraud in the elections. Voters can use their epic number to verify their registration, the voting station and the electoral status of the list, and also functions as an identity test in government and financial transactions.
