London – A fuel tank truck and a cargo ship participated in a burning collision off the British coast in the North Sea on Monday, said the United Kingdom Coast Guard.
The oil tanker, MV Stena Immaculate, was beaten by the Solong container ship registered by Portugal, according to a Crowley statement, the company that manages the oil company. The Stena Immaculate is an American ship that was anchored on the North Sea coast, near Hull, the United Kingdom, at that time, said the company.
“The Stena Imacurulo held a broken load tank containing Jet-A1 fuel due to the (collision),” said the statement. “There was a fire as a result of the (collision), and fuel was reported.”
The scene was one of the video images published by the Guardian newspaper, with both ships apparently in flames and sending coarse black smoke that undertates to the gray sky of the North Sea.
Crowley confirmed that the entire crew on board Stena Immaculate left the ship after multiple explosions on board. All were “safe and counted,” said the company.
Martyn Boyers, executive director of the port of Grimsby East, told Sky News that 32 people had been brought to living land. The city of Grimsby is about 60 miles southeast of the city of York.
“There was an ambulance line hoping to take them to the Princess Diana hospital, “Boyers said.
“I’m worried about the collision between two vessels in the North Sea this morning and I am in contact with the officials and the HM coast guard as the situation develops,” said the United Kingdom’s Minister of Transportation, Heidi Alexander, in a position in X.
“I want to thank all the emergency service workers involved for their continuous efforts to respond to the incident,” he added.
Although NBC News has not been able to independently verify that information, the Royal National Boat Institution Non -profit organization said in a statement that they had been called four life boats equipment to support two ships after they had collided on the East Yorkshire coast the early hours of Monday.
“There were reports that several people had abandoned ships after a collision and there were fires in both ships,” said the RNLI in a media statement.
He added that shortly before noon from the local time, while his Cleethorpes team had been called back, three more crews from Bridlington, Moblethorpe and Skegness continued to support the search and rescue efforts.
The Stena Immaculate had been sailing from the Greek port of Agioi Theodori, near Athens, while the Solong had just left the nearby Immingham British port and was on its way to Rotterdam in the Netherlands, according to the supplier of maritime maritime analytics of marine traffic.

The last time a rescue helicopter from the Coast Guard was sent to respond to the collision, said the maritime and coastal agency of the British government in a media statement.
He added that a Coast Guard plane and nearby ships with “fire fighting capacity” were also being deployed.
