Amazon to begin streaming Trump’s ‘The Apprentice’

Amazon has announced that “The Amprentice”, the reality show show famous for promoting Donald Trump’s profile, in his main video service on Monday.

It is the first time that the program will be available in a transmission service, and the measure highlights the close link between Trump’s time as a personality of reality shows and its elected president -elect twice. The executive producer of the program, Mark Burnett, is still one of his closest allies.

Burnett, the British producer behind “The Amprentice”, as well as “survivor” and “Shark Tank”, was appointed special envoy of the United Kingdom in December.

“‘The apprentice’ is one of the best programs I produced. The charismatic presence on the screen of President Donald J. Trump made him a success in good faith!” Burnett said in a press release.

Trump, who was an executive producer in the program along with Burnett, said in the statement: “I hope to see this program, very good memories and very funny. But most importantly, it was a learning experience for all of us!”

“The Amprentice” was executed in NBC from 2004 to 2017, attracting an average of 20 million viewers per week and 28 million for the end of season one, Amazon said. Nbcuniversal is the parent company of NBC and NBC News.

The program faced 16 contestants with each other for the opportunity to win a work working for Trump with a salary of $ 250,000. The applicants were abandoned from the program every week with Trump’s slogan: “You are fired.”

Burnett added that “Survivor” found new fans thanks to the public who discovered him in the transmission during the pandemic. “On Monday, March 10, this same phenomenon will begin again … with ‘The Apprentice’.”

But none of the stars of the other Burnett shows has the same retrospective importance as Trump, and both their critics and their fans can now see, some for the first time, the program that raised his public profile long before his career for the White House in 2017.

The spectators will see Trump develop their skills in front of a camera, a skill that exploded in the campaign and in office to communicate in a simple and effective way with their audience.

Trump explains in the first episode that had gone to bankruptcy and fought to return, a personality representation that years later would come to dominate the Republican party and win two terms in the position.

The return of the program can also ask questions for the founder and executive president of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, who attended the inauguration of Trump in January along with other technological billionaires. Bezos attracted criticism for ending the tradition in the Washington Post, which he owns, to support a presidential candidate.

In January, Amazon Prime Video authorized an upcoming documentary about the first lady Melania Trump. At that time, Bezos did not respond to a request for comments on whether he was involved in ensuring the agreement. Last month, Bezos’ decision that the opinion section takes a new address and focuses only on “personal freedoms and free markets, caused criticism and caused the editor of the section, David Shipley, to resign.
