An inmate who was wanted for illegally absconding after failing to return to the Whitespruce Provincial Training Center in Yorkton was found and arrested.
Staff noticed Martin Oochoo, 36, was not present at the facility on Dec. 25 and reported the incident to police, according to a statement from the Saskatchewan RCMP.
An arrest warrant was issued for Oochoo and Yorkton RCMP asked the public for help in finding him.
On December 31, he was located and arrested by Saskatoon RCMP near Dundurn, Sask.
He appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on December 31.
