An anti -terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi extended the physical return of the primary suspect Armaghan in the case of murder of Mustafa Amir until March 10, while the other suspicious Shiraz was sent to jail in judicial prison.
Amir was kidnapped and allegedly killed by his friends in the Karachi Defense Housing Authority (DHA) on January 6. According to the police, the young friends put their body into the trunk of their car and set it on fire in the Baluchistan hub area.
Last month, the police arrested Armaghan for hurting the police in an attempt to resist their arrest in relation to the case of kidnapping of Amir. Another suspect, Armaghan’s friend, Sheraz, also known as Shavez Bukhari, was sent in police custody by an ATC.
The case of prosecution suffered a setback yesterday when Shiraz informed a judicial magistrate that he was not willing to register his confessional statement.
Today, during the judicial hearing, the prosecutor requested an extension of the physical return of the suspicious Armaghan, stating that the stick used for torture must recover from the accused.
Separately, Shiraz also appeared before the judicial magistrate.
Later, the Court sent Shiraz to jail in judicial prison.
Baluchistan police had found the body in the burning car and handed it to the Edhi Foundation for burial in its cemetery for unresated bodies. Later, the body was exhumed from the cemetery by a medical board for the collection of DNA samples for identification.
A laboratory from the University of Karachi concluded that the body’s DNA samples combined with Mustafa’s mother.
